Dollar Makes a Difference

Every Aldine student’s story is unique, but the financial gap in paying for college is still obvious for many. Starting November 2, 2020 the Aldine Education Foundation (AEF) will once again launch the Dollar Makes a Difference, employee giving program. This year’s theme is Shoot for the Stars, and the generous staff will assist our future leaders to reach new heights by providing scholarship assistance.

Since 2012, Aldine Education Foundation has given more than $5 Million to these efforts and we work continuously to keep that growing. While the bulk of that funding comes from individuals, companies, and organizations outside of the District, we also ask our Aldine ISD staff to consider supporting our efforts through our payroll deduction Dollar Makes a Difference program.

In 2019, Aldine ISD staff gave over $115,000 in scholarships to 43 District graduates. That equates to 20% of all our competitive scholarship awards for the year. We have an amazing Aldine ISD family of donors!

This school year, the Aldine Education Foundation invites our Aldine ISD employees to assist in helping our students Shoot for the Stars by making a gift of $1 per paycheck, only $24 a year to support our students who wish to go to college, and reach their full potential.  AEF encourages Aldine ISD employees to give more if you are able, and one-time gifts are also welcomed. Every dollar makes a difference. No gift is too small and everyone is important to our students’ success.

There’s more! Every dollar donated increases the staff members’ chances of winning great prizes like United Airlines tickets, lunch with Superintendent Goffney, and entry into a raffle for many fantastic prizes! And top giving campuses/ departments serve on a staff committee to determine how these scholarships will be awarded.
